I'm Scott (or Scoots, depending on how well we know each other).
For the past 20 years, I've been making creative work that performs and building teams that genuinely enjoy working together. The kind of teams where people say "this is the best creative environment I've ever been in."
I've led campaigns for Microsoft, Oracle, Boeing, T-Mobile—big B2B tech stuff that could easily be boring but isn't. I've learned how to make enterprise software feel exciting, which is harder than it sounds.
I'm into AI (the thoughtful, human-augmenting kind, not the replace-everyone kind). I'm good at keeping teams calm under pressure. And I believe the best creative happens when you balance strategy with humor.
Looking for my next challenge. Also, I think I'm hilarious.

Ran a scrappy creative team focused on
e-commerce and digital work. This is where I learned that pretty designs mean nothing if they don't convert. Started building processes for testing and iterating based on real data. That mindset stuck with me.

This is where I cut my teeth supervising a tiny design team of one, and learned how agencies actually work. Made many mistakes. Still do. Got better.
2014-Present (kinda)
The Marketing Practice / 90octane
Creative Director
Started at 90octane in 2014; we were acquired by The Marketing Practice in 2022. I now lead creative teams across different time zones and continents for clients such as Microsoft, Nutanix, T-Mobile, DISH, and ServiceNow.
The work I'm most proud of? Building a team of 12+ designers, writers, and digital folks who actually enjoy working together. We've won over 20 awards, but honestly, the better metric is that people keep telling me this is the best creative environment they've ever been in.
We were early adopters of AI tools—not to replace creativity, but to streamline the tedious parts so we could focus on genuine thinking. It worked. We're faster without sacrificing quality.
